BOEN’s Oak Warm Grey sets the tone in a transformed mountain cabin

In an episode that truly captures the serenity and magic of nature, Halvor Bakke and his team travel to Femundsundet – a wild and beautiful place where the cabin sits idyllically on an island, accessible only by cableway. Here, a classic log cabin is transformed into a warm and functional retreat, featuring carefully selected materials and colors inspired by the surrounding landscape. BOEN is once again the proud flooring supplier, and this time it’s Oak Warm Grey, 138 mm plank with Live Pure lacquer in a brushed finish, that ties everything together.

Tradition meets new functionality

The cabin at Femundsundet originally had a traditional style that needed an upgrade – both aesthetically and functionally. The owners dreamed of more space for the family, better zoning, and an interior that reflects the beautiful nature outside. Halvor and his team took charge: one of the bedrooms was moved to a nearby storehouse, and the main cabin was reorganized with new social areas and an open yet cozy layout. The walls were stained in a deep brown, the ceiling painted in a muted beige shade, and on the floor – BOEN Oak Warm Grey – a choice that brings warmth, depth, and cohesion throughout the cabin.

BOEN Oak Warm Grey – in harmony with nature

With Live Pure lacquer, the floor appears almost untreated – natural and authentic, while offering a surface durable enough to withstand boots, play, and everyday cabin life. It’s a solid, lasting choice for a place made for relaxation and togetherness.
The 138 mm plank width creates a clean, timeless look, allowing the wood’s structure to stand out beautifully. The brushed surface adds a subtle texture that complements the cabin’s other material choices – wood, textiles, natural stone, and muted earth tones.

A cabin for generations

With new flooring, an updated layout, and a palette inspired by the mountain’s own colors – lichen, pine, heather, and birch – the cabin now feels like a warm and inviting gathering place for the entire family. There are zones for play, relaxation, dining, and conversation – and above all, a cohesive atmosphere that invites connection all year round. The family’s tears of joy upon seeing the cabin after the renovation say it all: this has become a place they will return to again and again. A place for togetherness, outdoor life – and true cabin living.

Quality rooted in nature

That BOEN has been chosen as the flooring supplier for Adventurous Renovation for the second season in a row is no coincidence. It’s about more than beautiful floors – it’s about a shared understanding of what true quality means: sustainable production, respect for the materials, and a love for the natural character of wood.

BOEN’s parquet combines strength and beauty – ensuring it withstands daily life while enhancing the unique personality of each project. At Femundsundet, Oak Warm Grey helps define a new sense of harmony – bringing character, warmth, and lasting quality to the cabin.
