BOEN’s Oak Antique Brown sets the tone in a historic cabin in Snåsa

In this episode of Adventurous Renovation, the team travels to beautiful Snåsa in Trøndelag – a place rich in history and deep family roots. Here lies a family cabin that has been passed down through generations since the 1500s.

Surrounded by forest and river, on a quiet clearing where time seems to stand still, this historic cabin gets a transformation that unites nature, heritage, and modern comfort.

BOEN once again joins as proud flooring supplier and series sponsor – and this time it’s Oak Antique Brown, Castle Plank, Live Natural oil, forming the very foundation for an interior filled with warmth, character, and soul.

Tradition and renewal – hand in hand

The cabin in Snåsa has been a gathering place for generations. But time had left its mark, and the family wanted to create a space that honors its history while making room for new memories.

Halvor Bakke and his team embraced the challenge, transforming the entire first floor – from small, closed-off rooms to an open, functional, and cozy living space where everything connects seamlessly.

The exterior is revitalized with dark brown cladding, and a brand-new annex provides space for more guests. Inside, the wall between kitchen and living area is opened up, allowing the family to gather around what they love most: hunting, cooking, and time together.

A kitchen with heart and soul

With food and togetherness in focus, the kitchen becomes the heart of the cabin. Halvor chooses a color palette inspired by the surrounding landscape: deep green, muted beige, brown-stained ceiling, and black-framed windows – a modern yet grounded look that feels perfectly at home in nature.

At the center of it all, the floor stands out beautifully. BOEN Oak Antique Brown has a lively character with natural knots and grain that bring depth and warmth to the room.
The oiled surface highlights the wood’s authentic texture and invites you to kick off your shoes and feel the material beneath your feet.

A place for togetherness and outdoor life

With its warm tones and rich structure, Oak Antique Brown blends harmoniously with the surrounding forest landscape in Snåsa.
The surface is treated with Live Natural oil, offering both durability and a soft, natural feel underfoot.

It’s a floor built for cabin life – for boots, dogs, and firewood – yet it adds elegance and calm to every room.
The wide Castle Plank format gives the space a solid, exclusive expression, while the oiled finish ensures that the floor ages gracefully, gaining even more character over time.

Craftsmanship rooted in nature

BOEN’s return as flooring partner for the second consecutive season of Adventurous Renovation is a mark of quality.
For both Halvor Bakke and BOEN, it’s about more than aesthetics – it’s about respect for nature, sustainable materials, and true craftsmanship.

BOEN’s parquet is designed to withstand everyday life while keeping the natural beauty of wood at the forefront.
In the Snåsa episode, Oak Antique Brown shows how the right floor choice can shape the atmosphere – and leave a lasting impression for generations to come.
